Introducing 4Network

WHAT IS 4NETWORK

4Network allows users of a managed Internet service in multi-tenant buildings to create their own private networks. This means users can connect their wireless-enabled devices together in a private and secure way via a building’s shared infrastructure.

HOW DOES IT WORK

4Network forms a unique part of ASK4’s network infrastructure. It allows ASK4 to provide the best possible connectivity experience for building operators and residents, delivering a superfast, managed, reliable broadband and WiFi service for a whole building, plus private and secure personal networks for individual residents.

4Network is exclusive to ASK4. Without 4Network, users of a managed Internet service cannot connect wireless devices together.

WHAT CAN CONNECT

Any wired or wireless enabled device can form part of a user's 4Network, for example:

  • laptops
  • smart phones
  • wireless printers
  • Chromecast
  • Apple TV
  • games consoles
  • Amazon Echo

HOW YOU CAN GET 4NETWORK

4Network is available as part of ASK4’s managed Internet service for multi-tenant buildings. It is typically available to residents as an upgrade / add-on for an annual fee, on top of a building’s inclusive service.  In some cases a building operator may choose to provide 4Network as an inclusive add-on. In this case the resident does not have to pay for the service as it has been included in their rent / other accommodation fees.

4Network forms part of our 4Connect-Plus package, giving users access to 4Network and the ability to add an additional 4 devices to their account.

The Internet as it should be

Here's how WiFi works in your home

You plug in your wireless router and set up your own wireless network and password.

You use your password to connect your devices to the WiFi.

Your wireless devices can then connect to the Internet and to each other - meaning you can use your wireless printer, stream your Chromecast and send music to your Sonos speakers.

HERE'S HOW WIFI WORKS IN MULTI-TENANT BUILDINGS

A managed wireless network in a multi-tenant building is a shared network, providing WiFi access for every tenant in the building.

To maintain privacy and security for tenants, wireless devices can connect to the WiFi but cannot connect with each other.

It has had to be this way to ensure neighbouring tenants cannot see or connect with each others' devices via the shared network.

UNTIL NOW...

ASK4 is the only Internet Service Provider able to deliver a true home network experience in multi-tenant buildings.

With 4Network tenants can create their own private wireless networks via the building's shared infrastructure. That means high capacity, site-wide WiFi for your building, plus personal and secure home networks for your tenants.
